Lenten Reflections
In 2025 for the first time, we created a Lenten booklet featuring reflections published by Jesuit Prayer over its 13-year history. These reflections, written by Jesuits and lay colleagues, have been shared with hundreds of thousands of people via email, the Jesuit Prayer website and app. Many of you have let us know how much you appreciated the chance to spend time with the daily Scriptures throughout Lent.
To that end, this booklet features a new collection of Jesuit Prayer reflections, following this year’s liturgical calendar. As you know, the liturgical calendar for Sunday readings at Masses rotates on a three-year cycle, thus the 2026 readings are from Cycle A. We’re blessed that the reflections for Sundays, Ash Wednesday, and the Triduum were written by Jesuits who were ordained to the priesthood in 2024 or 2025. During Lent, the weekday Mass readings are the same each year, inviting us to engage in familiar Gospel stories with fresh eyes.
