He did his postulancy at Colombiere College from August 1960 through March 1961 and did his juniorate at Milford Novitiate from 1963 through 1965. Anthony earned a bachelor of arts degree in general studies from Xavier University in Cincinnati (1980) and a master of arts in culture and creation spirituality with geo-justice emphasis from Holy Names University in Oakland, Calif. (1989).

Anthony ministered to people in many different ways as a Jesuit. He was always open to new things and going where the need was greatest. He began his ministry in the Society as a carpenter at Milford Novitiate (1965–67). Anthony then worked at Loyola University Chicago in the student personnel department and was the director of Gonzaga House when it was a dorm (and before it became a Jesuit residence) from 1967 to 1969.

He was the assistant to the master of novices and assistant to the minister at Bellarmine School of Theology in North Aurora, Illinois (1969–71). He was minister at Bellarmine School of Theology (January 1971–73), Jesuit School of Theology (1973–77), and the Xavier University Jesuit Community (1978–79). Anthony also worked for Appalachia Science in the Public Interest located in Corbin, Ky. (1977–78). He was an auxiliary consultor for the Chicago Province (1979–83) and was the Loyola Youth Retreat House manager in Milford, Ohio (1980–87).

After a sabbatical, Anthony earned his master’s degree at Holy Names University (1988–89). He then moved to Chicago, where he taught woodworking at Misericordia Home (1989–91), was a case manager at the Ruth M. Rothstein CORE Center of Cook County Health and Hospital Systems (1991–2005), and was minister of the Saint Ignatius College Prep Jesuit Community (2000–05). In 2005, Br. Kreutzjans did a sabbatical working with AIDS patients in Zambia, Uganda, and Nigeria. He then was on the staff of Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House (2005–07) and was minister of the Saint Ignatius College Prep Jesuit Community and the Woodlawn Jesuit Community (2007–11).

Although Anthony moved to Colombiere Center in 2011 to battle his cancer, he found time to care for many members of the Jesuit community. He donated his body to the University of Michigan’s Alzheimer’s research project.
