In Memoriam

Jesuit Brother Robert A. Larouere died on Dec. 15, 2014, at the age of 80 in Philadelphia. He was a Jesuit for 49 years.

Born in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, outside of Pittsburgh, Br. Larouere worked for a dairy company for 15 years and served for two years in the United States Army.  In 1965, Br. Larouere entered the Society of Jesus and took final vows to become a Jesuit Brother in August of 1967.

Br. Larouere began a 33-year tenure at Georgetown Prep in the fall of 1967 as Prep’s Director of Golf.  He also ran the school store from 1969 to 1994.  He served as Director of Golf until his retirement on November 20, 2000.

After Prep, Br. Larouere moved to the Jesuit House in Wernersville, Pennsylvania, where he cared for elderly Jesuits in an assisted living facility.
