Midwest Jesuits Join Cardinal Blase J. Cupich to Support The Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarship Program

Serving nearly 4700 students, over 1000 of whose families meet the federal guidelines for living in poverty, Midwest Jesuit schools educate students on the southwest and west sides of Chicago, as well as its northern suburbs. Three of these schools — Cristo Rey, Christ the King and Chicago Jesuit Academy — exclusively serve students and families of modest means who are living in resilient communities impacted by historical disinvestment; the other two host a significant number of students who meet the financial qualifications of this scholarship.

The USA Midwest Province was formed in June 2017 from the former Chicago, Chicago-Detroit, Detroit, and Wisconsin provinces, and encompasses Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.  In 2020, the USA Midwest Province has 490 Jesuit members; approximately 4,000 Jesuits have served in the province since 1955. …
